“You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards.”
“So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.”
“Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart even when it leads you off the well-worn path… and that will make all the difference.”
Steve Jobs, February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011

You wrote about connecting the dots on your bio page. Is this speech where you got that from?
D.K. says
No, a client told me something to that effect several years before the commencement address.
When I first heard Steve’s speech I thought about re-writing the reference to connecting-the-dots to address the forward-thinking aspect.
Think I’m going to re-write it now in honor of “Mr. Jobs”, who many years ago told me to call him Steve and talked with me like a peer for over a half-hour. A brief moment in my life that made a big difference.
